After many months of speculation and debate a decision has been taken by Eagle Wind
H-D to close the Durban Harley-Davidson Dealership at Gateway from the end of January 2009.
This will not affect the Durban H.O.G. Chapter at all, apart from requiring a move of our office set up. We will have the full support of H-D Middle East and Africa and from the H.O.G. Africa Manager, Martin Engelbrecht. The committee is in consultation with all the relevant parties to ensure that the transition is as seamless as possible and we will be in constant communication with our members to avoid any misunderstandings and to notify you all of any change in telephone numbers, email addresses and the new office location.
Over the next few months we will continue to meet for Sunday rides at Gateway next to Primi Piatti. All H.O.G. activity will not change and we are currently planning our Durban Chapter rally.
Should you have any queries or comment, feel free to contact any one of the Committee on the following numbers:
- Mike Norman (Chapter Director) - 082 456 3897
- Nick Gahagan (Assistant Director) - 083 700 0037
- Johan Swanepoel (Office Manager) - 074 103 0718 or 031 566 3369 until end Jan

The Harley Owners Group® was established in 1983 in response to a growing desire by Harley® riders for an organized way to share their passion and show their pride. Two years later, 49 local chapters had sprouted around the United States, with a total membership of 60,000.
Today, more than 1 million members make up the H.O.G. family and it shows absolutely no signs of slowing down.
Your mission as a H.O.G. Member - should you choose to accept it - will be a simple one: "To Ride and Have Fun." The Harley Owners Group helps us turn that philosophy into reality.
Does that sound like something you want to be a part of? Then Join H.O.G. today. You'll ride. You'll have fun. Mission accomplished.
